Dear Parishioners,
The Easter of 2020 is quite a different one. It is an extraordinary and challenging moment due to COVID 19 pandemic. Even though we cannot worship together, each of us can seek him in the tabernacles of our own hearts.
The Easter Story is one of Hope and infinite love. It is a story of intense love; the women and John, who braved the sorrow of standing at the foot of the cross when everyone else abandoned him; the good thief recognized the divine presence of Jesus who hangs on the cross and asked him to remember when He comes into his Kingdom; Joseph of Arimathea who overcame the fear of following Jesus in darkness and asked Pilate for his body; Nicodemus who embalmed the sacred body of Jesus with generous quantity of myrrh; women who went early hours of the day to tend the body without knowing how to move the stone of the entrance.
These people made an intentional choice to encounter Jesus Christ in those horrific moments of passion, death and resurrection. God’s love reaches all of us from the open heart of the Crucified. Through his Resurrection, Jesus unleashed the power of Love and invites us to seize that power and diffuse it in our neighborhood. God has given us real, unshakable hope through His Word as we endure this pandemic. He is our Shield and our Shelter and He is mighty to save!
May this Easter be for all in our Church and our community a glimpse of the true reality won for us by Christ, which will never pass away. May we pray earnestly that the Risen Lord in his infinite Mercy and compassion look upon this earth and end this Corona virus Pandemic.
